Find your model in three steps

1. Open Mechanic Chat. Use the link at the top of the website to open the vehicle directory.

2. Search by model or make. Enter a name such as Mustang, Yaris, GT86, or 335i, or choose a manufacturer from the make filter. This search shows vehicle chatrooms only.

3. Open the room and join in. Read existing threads, sign in with your site member account, and start a conversation or reply. Each model has its own discussion space.

Start with one of these rooms

Ford Mustang · Toyota Yaris · Toyota 86 / GT86 · BMW 335i

Those are just four starting points. Browse the full directory for current and older models from manufacturers around the world.

Help other owners understand the problem

Include your model year, engine, transmission, mileage, symptoms, and the exact fault codes you have recorded. Explain any checks or repairs you have already tried. If you solve the problem, return to the thread and share the fix so the next owner has something useful to learn from.

The model rooms complement the repair-specific discussions on HowToMechanic’s repair pages. Use a model room for a broader vehicle question, or the discussion beneath a repair guide when your question is about that particular job.

Bring another owner into the conversation

Know someone who works on the same model? Share its chatroom link with them. The goal is a useful place for owners to compare experience, ask better questions, and leave behind fixes that help someone else.
